This cruise will last approximately 3 hours, if we are punctual, and the wind, weather or sunset are amazing, or during the longest days of summer when it is light until 10 pm, we may use some extra time to sail, so we will have some flexibility with travel to the marina and casting off to enjoy sailing! We will leave, under motor power, out of Shilshole Bay Marina and head south to Elliott Bay. During that time we will do a safety check, and then we may haul the sails and take turns learning the fundamentals of sailing and running the helm (if you would like), otherwise sit back and enjoy the views and the winds during the sail. To the west, we will have views of Blake and Bainbridge Island from Rich Passage where the downtown to to island ferrys run. Upon entering Elliott Bay, to the east, lies Elliott Bay Marina and Discovery Park, while straight ahead and to the South we will see Mount Rainier and downtown Seattle. The Great Pacific North West has many things to offer on the sea, so we hope to see porpoises, orcas, sea lions, the occasional whale or a message in a bottle, and we will definitely see the sunset! This year one Humpback, and 2 orca sightings! Other things to note Sailing is an all weather sport and can be cold, or hot in the sun, the cabin has relief from both. Bring warm layers, camera, sunscreen, and any food or beverages, (drinking water and ice provided).

We will be making a unique one of a kind glass paperweight. This hot glass paperweight is shaped using glass tools. Pull and shape the color patterns in this fun experience. Meet us in our small gallery where you will be taken on a tour of a working glassblowing studio. We make barware and art for hotels in our hotshop. After a quick intro to glassblowing and the techniques used, you will be given one on one instruction while creating your glass paperweight. Our sailing experience begins at Monroe Harbor right in downtown Chicago. Guests will enjoy a captained cruise on our sailing yacht, a Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 37. We will cast off and motor out to Lake Michigan where we will set sail to a favorable course. We will provide a woodturning demonstration showcasing the process of turning bowls from roughly milled blanks on a lathe. The experience will include demonstration of each part of the process, a tour of the farm, and conclude in our gift shop where guests have the opportunity to purchase finished products and take home a carton of eggs from our chickens.

During your one hour tour, you will have the opportunity to meet the residents of CVHR and learn about each of their stories and how they got here. Your tour will start with a walking tour around the farm to meet our residents. During the tour, you will learn about what is involved in caring for a horse, their behaviors and overall general information regarding maintaining horses and a farm. The tour will conclude with a grooming session with one of the equine ambassadors at the rescue farm.

A brief but inspiring discussion on meditation and why we do it with horses will motivate you to be dedicated and vigilant in your practice. Then we go and meet the horses and I will teach you the basics in animal meditation. Then we groom the horses; this is the best way to get the horses to accept you as herd members as they bond by grooming each other. As we start to meditate, the more stable, connected and balanced the client, the easier it is for the horse to step into his role of soothing, regulating, teaching and inspiring with his gentle and peaceful energy. Often the horses will lie down and we can get down on the grass with them and be close and connected. We work on touching the horses in specific areas and watching for significant reactions to detect connection. There is often an opportunity to test your connection by asking the horses to follow you without a lead and then you can take a little walk together. We often finish with a beautiful guided meditation which will be chosen depending on the specific needs of the client. We always end the session with gratitude and a big horsey cuddle. Other things to note In the summer there may be flies. Bring sun hats and sun cream. Wrap up warm and water proof on winter and please wear wellies or firm boots. No experience of horses or meditation needed but please arrive with an open heart and an open mind.

PLEASE ENSURE YOU WEAR SUITABLE FOOTWEAR. We will have cuddles and photo opportunities and hand feed them. You will be able to feel some of their fleece and if you wish you can collect some alpaca poop if you wish to make some "fertiliser tea" once you return home to help your garden grow! You may have the chance to meet our Swiss Valais Blacknose sheep. You will leave the experience with increased knowledge about these wonderful animals and benefit from some time in their company. Our sea kayaking adventure in Studland bay is something pretty special. It marks the beginning of the Jurassic Coastline, a UNESCO World Heritage sight, for one, but for two, our patch of Dorset wild which also happens to be an iconic landmark Old Harry Rocks, that is filled to the brim in myth, magic and legend, with the tales of pirates and smugglers contributing to the history of our home which we happily share along the way. Old Harry Rocks is a beautiful and iconic sea kayaking destination, and the best way to explore this iconic landmark is from a sea Kayak, our hut on the shores of Middle beach is just a short paddle away. After an inital safety briefing you will join us and jump aboard the kayaks to explore Studland bay in Dorset before heading out to Old Harry Rocks. From here, you will be guided you to explore the sea caves, arches and stacks of this iconic landmark by kayak. We will have frequent stops to discuss this area of outstanding natural beauty and there will ample opportunity to learn about the eco system and geology along the way. These trips are run using double sit on top kayaks, please book in your family or social bubble groups as you will be sharing a kayak. Open Water Swimming Experience As a qualified STA Level 2 Open Water Swimming coach I offer my the opportunity to experience the sheer joy of swimming in one of our beautiful local lochs within the Galloway Forest Park. Open water swimming is the gift that just keeps on giving; the health benefits are practically endless, being at one with nature, a sense of achievement, and above all it’s great fun! The session will start with a short level walk to the water entry point, then a safety briefing before entering the water. • Swimsuit/trunks are required along with swim shoes/old trainers. Wetsuit/swim gloves are optional. . Please bring a hot drink and snack for after the swim. • Please bring plenty of warm clothes for afterwards, even on a warm day. My wife, Debbie, is a certified yoga instructor and we have an amazing herd of goats! Come experience outdoor yoga overlooking a beautiful goat pasture in a rural setting just 45 minutes from downtown Nashville on our hobby farm. The yoga practice takes place in an open-air, covered pavilion. Following yoga, guests can interact with our herd of goats. It's not goat yoga. It's the best of both - real yoga followed by a time with goats in their natural farm setting. This is a great group activity for adults, kids and families. Guest have ample off-street parking and will be greeted by Debbie, a certified yoga instructor, who will take a few minutes to learn a little about each participant, becoming aware of their fitness level and interests, any potential existing conditions or sensitive areas for practice modification, and then the group will ease into the yoga practice. Following the yoga practice, guests will take a short walk and enter the pasture, featuring a goat playground, climbing rocks, winding pathways through the tall grasses and our open-air barn. Have your phones ready for photos with the goats and chickens. Our animals are lovingly cared for and are accustomed to making new friends. After 30-45 minutes with the animals, guests will transition back to the pavilion to gather their belongings as they conclude their experience.

The tour begins meeting Johnny, a descendant of local enslaved ancestors & lifelong resident of the area at the oldest standing structure in DeKalb County, the historic Lyon's House site. Here you tour the grounds, experience the living area of slaves, & listen to rich stories passed down through generations. You gain an understanding of what it was like for families to live on small Southern Farms before the Civil War. You will also enjoy the best scenic views of Panola Mtn that only a local would know. Next drive along a paved two-lane road to the start of an old stagecoach road, now a trail. Continue the trail for .25 miles as you get an understanding of Flat Rock. Then you turn a corner and enter a wooded area dotted with gravestones. This is the Flat Rock Historic Cemetery with at least 202 interred individuals, many simple unidentified gravestones. We usually do not visit the cemetery in summer because this area has ticks & overgrown with ivy. Please communicate beforehand that you want to visit the cemetery if it is summer as you will have to make sure to dress appropriately-pants, long socks, tennis shoes. Some interred were born enslaved & freed after the Civil War. We will also visit the site of the first AA Methodist church site of the Flat Rock Community. And we will end the tour at the Flat Rock Archive. This is a small museum highlighting local AA history.

- We will be exploring the 500 year old walled city of Old San Juan, discovering secret corners and little-known spots full of charm and steeped in history, that remain unnoticed to the casual visitor. We will walk through Old San Juan’s blue cobblestoned streets, accompanied by a knowledgeable local architect, learning about how the city was built in this rocky island jutting out to the sea, observing the urban layout, constructive methods and architectural details of the Spanish colonial buildings and defensive structures. In this 2 hour stroll you'll experience historical architecture with an insider, not just as a tourist, since we will be visiting private residences, convents and places with limited access. You'll have a chance to peer into underground cisterns, wonder at frescoed chapels, climb rooftops to explore hidden towers, and basque in secluded Spanish patios. We will meet at a designated parking lot that is on the Spring to Spring trail, right near Blue Springs State Park. There is a bike bridge over a railroad track that overlooks the beautiful Blue Springs Nature Preserve. From there you will ride the trail at your own pace and take in all the beautiful nature and wildlife the trail has to offer until you arrive at Gemini Springs. When you arrive at Gemini Springs there are several biking and walking trails available to explore as you take in the beautiful scenery, and the crystal clear springs. There are also bathrooms, pavilions, and picnic tables at the park, which provide the perfect opportunity to take a break and have a picnic. Once you are finished exploring Gemini Springs you will hop back on the Spring to Spring trail and meet back and the trailhead where you began. The two electric bikes provided offer pedal-assist for effortless riding, and a map of the Spring to Spring Trail is provided. Times are flexible. Message us for an alternate time. I will be introducing you to Dutch Oven cooking; a primitive way of cooking that is not only fun, but it will allow you to impress your family and friends. Participants will be helping cook with my direction and guidance. This is a hands-on class, upon arrival you will be helping prepare the main protein dish, a vegetable, bread, and homemade dessert. All Dutch Ovens, food ingredients, tools, recipes and instructions will be provided. While dinner is cooking, you will be invited to relax in our garden area and visit our mini farm animals. You will be shown how to prepare a Dutch Oven meal over an open fire pit outdoors and on propane stoves (weather permitting) At the end of the class each person will be invited to sit at a picnic table in the great outdoors surrounded by beautiful mountain views; and enjoy the meal that you have helped prepare. If the weather is bad, we will be eating indoors. No prior Dutch Oven cooking experience is necessary. Basic cooking experience is recommended, but not required. Do not grab the cables attached to the door while entering or exiting, please use rails attached to wall. •In an unlikely event that there is a door malfunction and not opening, there is an emergency escape hatch under middle area rug. Roll back the rug, unlock the hatch and pull the handle door up and exit. *There is a smoke and carbon monoxide alarm in the Futuro. There are also two fire extinguishers located inside the Futuro. Near the entrance and one by the daybed* •Heating is a indoor safe propane heater. For use make sure the propane tank is open and Instruction for use is on equipment. REMEMBER TO TURN OFF TANK AND HEATER WHEN NOT USING ELECTRICITY: Given that this is off-grid and completely solar powered. Power conservation is advised, and If at any point there is a lost of power the inverter may have had an overload and you will need to go under the Futuro and reset the silver inverter by switching it off and then back on. There is also a backup Power station inside, this may also need to be reset by pressing the AC power button on the back. Kitchen and fire pit: REMEMBER TO TURN OFF •For safety the igniter for grill disconnected. Simply turn gas on and use provided lighter to get flame for grill. Fire pit igniter is connected BUT in windy night will sometimes require a lighter. Shower info: REMEMBER TO TURN OFF •Shower has hot water. Turn turn propane tank on in small box just outside shower, and inside show turn the blue handle for water flow, and press the button on shower head. •Control the temperature by adjusting the labeled hot and cold dials on system. Bathroom info: •There are lights on the inside of the bathroom on the ceiling with an on and off switch. •If a toilet does not flush, it is because the tank is not filled with water. Simply turn on the water hose just outside to fill the tank (visible to the left of switches) and turn off the hose so that it does not overflow. • There is a small door just outside the trailer that has 3 white switches for the lights, sink, and toilet. Please check these are on for bathroom function. Also please turn off after use. (There are lighted pathways to pergola, restrooms and shower, but if additional light is needed please have your flash lights available. Please remember this is GLAMPING, which is camping with some limited luxury amenities. We test, check and fill all amenities, water, heaters, fire pit, grill, lights, speakers etc. before arrival to insure proper function for guests complete enjoyment and comfortability. Conservation of energy, water and gas are advised and failure to adhere to these instructions during your stay will could result in a uncomfortable stay and void any refund.
